His t-shirts have been the target point of public derision, as is everything he does in general really, so the store is obviously not worth the long wait unless you're a big fan.

The short- and long-sleeved t-shirts shared the same design template as all of his Pablo-related merch thus far, possessing gothic typography and striking colours - no portrait photos, no album art, just words lifted out of 'Ultralight Beam' and other songs from The Life of Pablo. The excitement wasn't exactly palpable.Īnd, being plush, stylish jackets - not to mention plush, stylish jackets by Kanye - they were, unsurprisingly, the most expensive items on the catalog, setting you back SG$400 for the grungy green military jacket, and SG$340 for the black satin jacket. Some fans had already turned up at Suntec at 9.30pm the previous night, and helped to organize the queue to make sure everything would run smoothly once the clock struck 12pm.Īrriving about half an hour after its official opening, we found ourselves at the tail end of a queue of about 100 fans - mostly keeping to themselves on their phones, playing Pokemon Go or scrolling through Instagram, imagining their own post at the top of the timeline once they grab their own Pablo jacket. The specific storefront wasn't specified on his official site, but resourceful fans quickly found out that it was being held The Art Space, Suntec's cafe/art space hybrid that obviously fits the minimal aesthetic that every pop-up store he's done has had.

One thing's for sure is that there are plenty of Yeezus stans here, and many of them turned up in droves this morning at Suntec City, when it was revealed last night that his pop-up store in Singapore - the only one in Asia - would take place at the long-running shopping mall. This is album of the life.Kanye West may have had his only show in the Philippines this year, but clearly he hasn't forsaken Singapore, and whether this will lead to a local date on his upcoming Saint Pablo tour is up in the air. In that song, he raps, "I feel like Pablo when I'm working on my shoes/ I feel like Pablo when I see me on the news." On March 2nd, 2015, West gave a lecture at the University of Oxford in England, in which he moved the goal lines even further for his aspirations: "My goal, if I was going to do art, fine art, would have been to become Picasso or greater." It seems especially ironic he left "No More Parties" off since it gives the strongest indication that the album title is a reference to Pablo Picasso. That doesn't even take into account his batch of 2015 singles-"All Day," "Only One," "FourFive Seconds"-which are also nowhere to be found (the less said about "Facts," the better). Three songs appear to have been dropped altogether, including the now-former title track "Waves" (which was rumored to have featured Chris Brown), "30 Hours," and "No More Parties In L.A.," West's first (awesome) collaboration with Kendrick Lamar. Over the course of the last two weeks, the tracklist went from this:įinal track list for The Life Of Pablo /PMH94MAAeJ It remained that until mid-January, when it was suddenly renamed WAVES, and it was subsequently retitled The Life Of Pablo this week.

The title was initially announced on March 1st, 2015 as So Help Me God, then switched in May 2015 to SWISH. Everything about the album has been in flux since West ramped up his work in the last month to finish the album by today's arbitrary deadline.
